A Small, Cute Laptop Computer: Sony VAIO TZ210E/P Notebook

If I were cooler, I might lust after Macs, but I’m perfectly happy with PCs. I don’t feel the need to cry about Windows or blue screens of death, or the myriad of compatibility issues that Mac users always talk about - because I don’t have those issues. My Windows computers just work.

Of course, one of the best things about being a PC-fan is that you get a huge variety of choices when it comes to laptops (and everything else, really). I’m a big fan of tiny, cute notebook computers that I can take anywhere without getting a hunchback.

If it weren’t for the fact that my own laptop functions perfectly well right now, I’d be all over this adorable pink Sony VAIO TZ210E/P Notebook. It’s not too cheap, not too expensive, and best of all, it’s cute. The screen is just 11.1″, and it weighs in at less than 3 pounds. This laptop also burns CDs and DVDs.

The only thing that would make me hesitate slightly is the relatively low amount of RAM - but that can be upgraded pretty cheaply and painlessly. If you can’t do it yourself, your most computer-literate friend (or nearby Geek Squad member if you must) can help you out.

Jerry Seinfeld Festivus T-Shirt

I’ve never been a huge Seinfeld fan, but I can certainly appreciate the idea of Festivus. I love non-religious holidays with minimal responsibilities, as they’re a lot more fun and less divisive. This Festivus T-Shirt lets you show your support for the famed Seinfeld holiday, and if you can get enough co-workers to wear them, you might be able to get human resources to recognize it as a real holiday and give everyone the day off.

As I write this, I’m sitting back on my king-sized bed, propped up by a million or so fluffy pillows, snuggled peacefully between the most luxurious sheets I’ve ever owned. Although I haven’t always been such a bedding snob, I’ve been spoiled by 1200 Thread Count Egyptian Cotton Linens.

I grew up in a small house where all the sheets were scratchy hand-me-downs, and it never occurred to me that bedding could be so soft. It wasn’t until my mid-20s that I found myself with a gift card and a coupon, standing in front of some 600-TC Egyptian cotton sheets in the perfect color for my bedroom. Reluctantly, I purchased the sheets, uncertain as to why anyone would pay more than $20 for a set of sheets.

And then I slept on them…and my sleep was changed forever. The improvement in quality of sleep was enormous, and immediate. If you’re still using scratchy sheets, consider an upgrade already! I’m a huge fan of Philosophy products, and it’s rare that I make a trip to the local Sephora without trying out something new. My latest find it Philosophy Cinnamon Buns Ultra Hydrating Body Souffle. It’s actually been around for quite a while, but I’ve always favored Philosophy’s Gingerbread Man products so strongly that I’ve never tried the Cinnamon Bun fragrance.

That was a mistake. Philosophy makes a mean Cinnamon Bun scent, and I’ll definitely be getting this one again.

Most of the people who know me don’t think of me as a particularly happy person. Maybe it’s because I don’t walk around with a smile plastered to my face like I need to convince the world that every moment in my life is a never-ending thrill. All the same, I’m an extremely happy person. Apart from a couple of years in the late 90s, every single year has been better than the last. I guess that’s just the up-side to growing up with chaos and near poverty.

I’ve had guy friends who spend small fortunes on their electronic toys, even when they’re completely pointless. This EyeClops Night Vision is a perfect example of the kind of thing they’d get. It’s incredibly cool, and probably a lot of fun to play with, but honestly, not many people really *need* night vision, even if it does have a cool name like EyeClops.

I can remember shopping with my mother and grandmother and aunts when I was younger, and the trips were never boring. They were like those eccentric old witches who live together in the movies, except without any special magical powers (that I’m aware of). These trips were some of my first times being exposed to groups of women, and certain things stand out…for instance, the time they spent an entire day pointing out “crepe-y cleavage”.
