I don’t wear a ton of jewelry, but when I do, I require it to be exceptional.  This contemporary Silver Bubble Ring from Palm Beach Jewelry certainly fits the bill.  It reminds me of a cross between a piece I once saw in Cartier and…Medusa’s snake hair.  That may not sound all that great, but I think the overall effect is quite stunning.   Best of all, the Silver Bubble Ring is sleek enough that you can get away with wearing it with almost anything you own.

I’ll warn you right now, this post is going to be a little bit nerdy and kind of disgusting.  I came across this Sterling Silver Claddagh Spinner Ring today, and it induced an internet meme flashback moment of the worst kind.  When I saw this ring (and I know I can’t be the only one to think this), it immediately reminded me of the Goatse guy.

Some of you may be new to the Internet.  The word “Goatse” may not cause you to shake and break out in a cold sweat.  I can fix that.    If you’re over 18 and have a strong stomach (don’t say I didn’t warn you) do a Google Images Search for the word “goatse”.   If you don’t want to do that, just imagine a Rickroll, then take away the music, add an up-close look into a grown man’s rectal cavity, and you have it.

I’m a huge fan of all things related to birds.  Weird as it is, I’d rather spend a vacation tracking down a rare bird in the jungle than sipping tropical drinks on the beach (not that I’d mind sipping a few after the bird-watching).

On a whim, I decided to check out what kind of nifty bird products are available on Etsy right now.  If you’re not familiar with Etsy, you should be.  It’s a great eBay-like website for makers of handmade goods, and you can score some amazing, unique pieces there.  Men, if you’re reading this, it’s a great place to get your girlfriend a gift “from the heart”.

It’s not often that I see “real” jewelry that I would be willing to pay for. I love the sparkly things as much as the next girl, but you can usually find what you’re looking for without spending the cash to get the real thing. I would make an exception for this Graduated Sapphire Nautical Wave Pendant, though.

While the site describes the necklace as nautical, it seems small enough and subtle enough to wear on a regular basis. I love the varying colors of the sapphires, and the wave looks almost symbolic of the wild, untameable woman who wear the piece. At $399, it’s a little pricy, but certainly no more than a lot of purses or good shoes these days. Given the fact that you can keep the necklace forever, I think it’s actually kind of a deal (love the woman-logic?).
